Ranked Among the Best Pediatric Hospitals Nationwide
In 2023, U.S. News & World Report once again named Seattle Children’s among the nation’s best children’s hospitals. U.S. News & World Report is considered the most comprehensive source of objective quality-related information on pediatric hospitals in the United States.
We are honored to be recognized as one of the nation’s very best places to care for children, out of nearly 200 pediatric hospitals evaluated in 2023. U.S. News & World Report has recognized Seattle Children’s as a top children’s hospital every year since it began ranking medical centers more than 30 years ago.
Seattle Children’s is the top-ranked pediatric hospital in Washington and the Pacific Northwest, and tied for third place in the Pacific Region, which includes Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington. We are nationally ranked for all 10 of the individual specialty areas that U.S. News & World Report evaluates.

About the Rankings
U.S. News & World Report is the most comprehensive source of quality-related information on pediatric hospitals in the United States. To calculate the Best Children’s Hospitals rankings, U.S. News gathered relevant data from children’s hospitals. The Best Children's Hospitals methodology factors in objective measures such as patient outcomes, including mortality and infection rates, as well as available clinical resources, compliance with best practices and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Rankings also factor in each specialty’s reputation, as assessed by thousands of pediatric specialists at peer institutions around the country.
Please note that although there are many pediatric specialties, U.S. News & World Report ranks only 10 of them.
