Human Trafficking
Human trafficking is a crime that involves the use of force, fraud or coercion to compel a person to provide labor or services, or to engage in commercial sex acts. There are two types of human trafficking: sex trafficking and labor trafficking.
Seattle Children's provides a clinical pathway and resource guide for evaluating human trafficking in-clinic. This guide was developed by the Seattle Children's Trafficking Work Group, Adolescent Medicine and community experts. Additionally, 1-hour trainings are offered throughout the year to all staff and providers who choose to participate.
