Provider Spotlight – Meet Dr. Cory Noel
Provider Spotlight – Meet Dr. Kevin Kollins
“You can tell that the people here are dedicated to serving not only Anchorage, but ... all of Alaska. When you look at how large the state is … it’s hard for families to get to care. We go out to a lot of different areas to try and reach people closer to where they live.” — Dr. Kevin Kollins, pediatric cardiologist
Dr. Bruce Hess, Ptarmigan Pediatrics
“Having Pediatric Cardiology of Alaska right next door makes it easier for our doctors to work closely to help our shared patients – so we’re thinking about all phases of their care. Through this collaborative care model we make sure their kids get the best care from a team of experts, which builds trust with our families in the valley. And Pediatric Cardiology of Alaska is incredibly invested in serving Alaskan communities across the state, big and small. So families who have kids with serious heart conditions don’t always have to travel to Anchorage, which can be a huge burden.”
Why choose Pediatric Cardiology of Alaska?
- All our heart doctors (cardiologists) are board certified in pediatrics and trained to meet the specific needs of children and teens. Ours is the only pediatric heart care group in Alaska with 2 pediatric and fetal certified sonographers.
- Pediatric Cardiology of Alaska is accredited in echocardiography by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) for showing a commitment to quality patient care.
- We offer fetal echocardiograms, a specialized ultrasound that uses sound waves to make pictures of a developing baby’s heart. Usually, we do a fetal echocardiogram 18 to 22 weeks into the pregnancy. We offer fetal echocardiogram as early as 14 weeks in some cases.
- Our providers are part of Seattle Children’s Heart Center, the most comprehensive pediatric heart care service in the Northwest. This means your child has access to all of Seattle Children’s services, from prenatal consultation, to heart surgery, to heart care for young adults.
- Care where you are: Our cardiologists provide expert pediatric consults at Providence Hospital, Alaska Regional Hospital and Alaska Native Medical Center, and they see children at more than 11 locations around the state.
