"Being a pediatrician has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. To bear witness to the transformation of a child from newly born to a blossoming young adult is wonderous. To be given the honor and privilege to partner with parents and caregivers in supporting their child is a gift of profound trust. To me, being a doctor is about deep listening. Listening for what and how you want to care for your child and supporting you in doing so. Listening for what is in your heart and bringing compassion to caring for you and your child. And at OBCC where we practice “quality care with dignity”, I have learned to look deeply to see each person’s inherent dignity no matter their life circumstances."

  • Biography

    Dr. Liu was born and raised in Pennsylvania by parents who immigrated from Taiwan. She attended college at Cornell University and medical school at the University of Pennsylvania before moving to Seattle in 1992 for her pediatric residency at UW-Seattle Children’s Hospital. She joined the OBCC family as a resident in July of 1992 and has spent her entire career at OBCC. She has focused her career on supporting children and families in their wellbeing. She was the medical director of the Child Wellness Clinic from 2006-2021. She is a certified yoga and meditation teacher and a founding member of OBCC’s Mindfulness & Compassion team bringing mindfulness practices to support parents. She nurtures her own wellbeing through mindfulness, dancing, writing, paddleboarding, and regular walks along the shorelines of the Pacific Northwest.
