  • Biography

    Dr. Venkatraman received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Oregon, where her research focused on the role of family management practices in the prevention of adolescent problem behavior. She completed her psychology clinical internship in Behavioral Medicine and Neuropsychology at the University of Washington (Harborview Medical Center). Subsequently, she completed a two-year, postdoctoral research fellowship in the University of Washington School of Nursing, where her research focused on adolescent behavior and functioning in the context of chronic illness, and the role of the family in adaptation and coping. Her current clinical interests include using evidence-based therapies to improve coping and adjustment in adolescents and children with medical illness. She is current President of the Washington State Psychological Association.

    Evidence-based therapies to address anxiety, depression, and adjustment issues related to acute and chronic medical illness among children and adolescents; cognitive-behavioral therapy for depression, anxiety disorders, insomnia, and behavior change.
