Organize a Workplace Fundraiser
Involving your workplace in fundraising is an easy way to engage employees, improve company morale and have fun with your coworkers! It's also a great way to get involved with your community while supporting Seattle Children's.
Workplace Fundraising Options
There are many ways to fundraise in the workplace, including:
- Employee engagement activities. Do you have regular barbecues, bake sales, “jeans days,” employee fairs or other employee engagement activities? We can help turn your activities into a fundraiser to benefit Seattle Children's.
- Payroll deduction. Offer the opportunity for employees to donate to Seattle Children's as a payroll deduction. Payroll deduction is an effective and easy way to give at work.
- Matching gifts. When employers match donations to Seattle Children's made by employees, it encourages a culture of philanthropy at work and doubles the impact of every gift. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please check with your employer’s human resources department.
We can help you plan your workplace fundraising activities and boost participation by speaking at your workplace, providing materials or leading tours of our hospital or research institute for your employees. Email Beth Bello or call 206-884-2052 for more information or to get started.
Fundraising Spotlight
Gravity Payments
Every year, Gravity Payments donates 10% of company profits back into the community through their annual Gravity Gives program. The program divvies up the total donation amount by the number of team members they have. Each Gravity employee then gets to decide which charitable cause their share will be donated to. The company feels this gives their team a sense of pride and ownership. This past Gravity Gives year, their employees generously donated $2,400 to Seattle Children’s Hospital!
The Gravity team also participates in many volunteer activities around the community throughout the year, including charity runs and donation drives. For Gravity, these activities are part of how the company connects to the community and how they create a company community among their team members.
