Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery Fellowship
Program Director
Associate Program Director
Program Overview
Established for more than 20 years, the Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery Fellowship is distinguished by the broad exposure fellows receive in all subspecialties of pediatric orthopedics, including spine, hip, sports, foot, upper extremity, oncology, limb differences, trauma, skeletal dysplasias, neuromuscular and congenital deformities/malformations. Our faculty is diverse and several are internationally known for excellence in their respected field of practice.
This ACGME-accredited one-year clinical fellowship program revolves around a mentorship model, where fellows are paired with full-time pediatric orthopedic surgeons in the clinic and operating room. Fellows are expected to initiate, with guidance from faculty, two research projects with the goal of publication in a peer-reviewed journal by the end of their fellowship year. Other expectations include attending weekly conferences and monthly journal clubs, and taking call.
The fellowship is based at a nationally recognized, free-standing, academic, tertiary care children's hospital that is affiliated with the University of Washington School of Medicine, both of which have been highly ranked for many years by U.S. News & World Report. The clinical and research resources for the department are well-established and dedicated to the education of our fellows.
