Hours: Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., except holidays

The Sand Point Learning Center is located 1.2 miles northeast of the hospital at 5801 Sand Point Way NE, at NE Windermere Road and Sand Point Way NE.

Driving and Parking

I-5 South

  • Take I-5 South to Exit 169 for NE 45th Street.
  • Turn left onto NE 45th Street.
  • Follow NE 45th Street past the University of Washington and down a large hill.
  • At the bottom of the hill, turn left at the stoplight and continue on NE 45th Street.
  • NE 45th Street will curve to the left and become Sand Point Way NE.
  • Continue driving past Seattle Children’s main campus.
  • At NE Windermere Road, turn left into the driveway.
    • South parking lot: Park in the lot to the left of the driveway, immediately after turning off Sand Point Way NE.
    • North parking lot: Curve to the right behind SPLC. Park in the five rows furthest from the building, including the hatched area parallel to Sand Point Way NE and the ADA stalls that are not directly adjacent to the building (no placard required).

I-90 West and I-5 North

  • Take I-90 West across the Mercer Island Floating Bridge.
  • Take I-5 North to Exit 169 for NE 45th Street.
  • Stay in the right lane.
  • Follow NE 45th Street past the University of Washington and down a large hill.
  • At the bottom of the hill, turn left at the stoplight and continue on NE 45th Street.
  • NE 45th Street will curve to the left and become Sand Point Way NE.

WA-520 West

Toll Road: WA-520 bridge charges a toll up to $5 each way. You will get a bill in the mail if you don’t have a Good to Go pass.

  • Take WA-520 West over the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge.
  • Take the Montlake Boulevard E exit.
  • Merge right onto Montlake Boulevard E. This will run into NE 45th Street.
  • Continue on NE 45th Street.
  • NE 45th Street will curve to the left and become Sand Point Way NE.
  • Continue driving past Seattle Children’s main campus.
  • At NE Windermere Road, turn left into the driveway.
    • South parking lot: Park in the lot to the left of the driveway, immediately after turning off Sand Point Way NE.
    • North parking lot: Curve to the right behind SPLC. Park in the five rows furthest from the building, including the hatched area parallel to Sand Point Way NE and the ADA stalls that are not directly adjacent to the building (no placard required).
Public Transit

SPLC is served by Metro bus route 75, with frequent, all-day service every 15 minutes beginning at 5:30 a.m. The 75 provides direct connections to:

  • Neighborhoods like Northgate, Lake City and the University District
  • Locations south of the Ship Canal via connections to Link light rail at Husky Stadium and other frequent regional bus service
  • Seattle Children’s work sites like the hospital and the Magnuson Clinic
Bicycling or Walking

Conveniently located along the Burke-Gilman Trail, SPLC is connected to the hospital, the Magnuson Clinic, and neighborhoods as far away as Ballard and Bothell. Uncovered bicycle parking is available in the gravel along the north side of the building.
