Frontiers in Pediatric Research Lecture With Dr. Christopher Forrest

Please join Seattle Children’s Research Institute for a lecture by Dr. Christopher Forrest, “Advancing a National Learning Health System for Children and Youth: Pediatrics, PEDSnet and Patient-Reported Data,” part of Seattle Children’s free, public Frontiers in Pediatric Research lecture series. Dr. Forrest, a pediatrician and health services and outcomes researcher, is the director of PEDSnet and of the Center for Applied Research at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
He will share the work of PEDSnet — a national, multi-specialty network that conducts observational research and clinical trials across pediatric health systems, including Seattle Children’s — in advancing the learning health system model for children and adolescents. Patients and families, and the data they care about, are at the heart of this new form of collaboration. Dr. Forrest believes pediatrics has the potential to lead the nation into a new social contract for healthcare, emphasizing continuous improvement of thriving (health, well-being and resilience), co-production of outcomes and rapid learning.
The event begins at 3:30 p.m. with a panel discussion and reception to follow. Panelists include Seattle Children’s Drs. Arti Desai, Christy McKinney, Jon Cogen and Thida Ong, who will discuss how the work of PEDSnet
intersects with Seattle Children’s research efforts. RSVP requested via this form by Sept. 11. In-person attendance encouraged.
The Frontiers in Pediatric Research Lecture series creates space and place for connection between Seattle Children’s researchers and the local scientific community. Such learning opportunities reflect Seattle Children’s Research Institute’s commitment as a place of innovation, collaboration and excellence within the Seattle scientific community.
