CGIDR Flow Cytometry Core
The CGIDR Flow Cytometry Core in the Center for Global Infectious Disease Research provides researchers with high-speed cell sorting services and access and training on flow analyzers, as well as software training, consultation services, and regular instrument maintenance. The facility is overseen by a faculty Scientific Advisor, Dr. Kevin Urdahl.
Flow Cytometry Equipment
- BD LSRII analyzers: We have two LSRIIs that are equipped with four lasers (violet, blue, green and red) and capable of detecting up to 18 colors. Both include a high throughput sampler that can rapidly introduce samples directly from 96 and 384 well plates.
- BD FACS AriaII cell sorter: Equipped with four lasers (violet, blue, green and red) and capable of detecting up to 18 colors simultaneously. This sorter is located in a Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) facility and is housed in a biosafety hood to allow for sorting BSL-3 level infectious agents.
